However, it has emerged that Ronaldo has seemingly looked into all options to stay in Europe in the hopes of once again playing UEFA Champions League football.
Eintracht Frankfurt chairman Alex Hellmann has revealed that they were offered the opportunity to sign international football's all-time leading goalscorer during the off-season.
"He was even offered to us," he admitted to DAZN.
"I have the feeling he was offered to every Champions League club."
United's failure to qualify for the Champions League for the 2022/23 season was likely a defining moment for Ronaldo.
