Mbappe Linked With Massive Swap Deal

Reports claim that Real Madrid are interested in making a shock swap deal with Paris Saint-Germain in the hopes of acquiring Kylian Mbappe.

Los Blancos are still the champions of Spain and Europe, with a pivotal part of that success being due to Karim Benzema. The French striker was in sublime form last season, the kind of form that saw him crowned the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner.

However, it seems that Los Merengues have grown increasingly dependent on the Lyon-born forward, something manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly taken issue with.

While Real may be in the market for an equally good deputy to Benzema, club president Florentino Perez is said to still be keen to take Mbappe to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 24-year-old and the record European champions were embroiled in a prolonged transfer saga last season, which ultimately saw the Paris native re-sign with PSG as opposed to becoming Perez's newest "Galactico", which he was highly tipped to become throughout the 2021/22 campaign.

According to Fichajes, the 14-time UEFA Champions League winners are now willing to swap one their star players in Vinicius Junior in an effort to get Mbappe.

If Benzema was the most important player for Real last season, Vinicius has a strong case to have been the second-most important. The 22-year-old Brazilian enjoyed a breakout season, notching up 22 goals and 20 assists in all competitions, and has since garnered the attention of the world.

While PSG do appreciate Vinicius as an attacking option, however, the French giants are said to rate Mbappe as a bigger prospect.

It remains to be seen if Real are willing to add money on top of a possible swap deal to sign the France superstar, but reports seem to suggest that Perez has once again ignited his interest in the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.
