Speaking in an interview on Thursday, the Ligue 1 champions' head coach Christophe Galtier announced that the Argentine will play his final match for the club this weekend, as many expected.
"I've had the privilege of managing the best player of all time. It'll be his last match at the Parc des Princes, I hope he'll be welcomed in the best possible way. He was an important part of the team this season, and was always available. I don't find the remarks and criticism to be justified," he said, according to Get French Football News. The 35-year-old has been linked with a return to the Catalan giants ahead of the end of his contract in France, although Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia remain a possible next destination for the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner.
Messi joined PSG as a free agent in 2021 and will now leave as one this month.
The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has enjoyed fine form this season for the league winners, having contributed to an impressive 41 goals in 40 matches across all competitions so far.
