The 36-year-old has made an instant impact since leaving Paris and arriving in the Inter Miami dressing room, and Major League Soccer as a whole.
The diminutive attacker already has nine goals in his first six games as a member of the Herons, and heading into their first-ever cup final as a club on Sunday, the Rosario native has insisted that the decision to sign for the David Beckham-co-owned side was one he did not take lightly or quickly.
According to Messi himself, this was in stark contrast to the way he decided to sign for Les Parisiens in 2021, with the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner now admitting that he did not actually want to make the move to the Parc des Princes at the time.
"I am excited there will be another game to continue that happiness. I am very happy now, I said that from the very beginning," the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner answered when asked about how he has adapted to life in Florida at a press conference, as per the Daily Mail.
"I chose coming here to this city, it was a decision that we made with time. We didn't make this decision overnight, and that's why everything is much easier. We are in the place we want to be and it was our decision, that's why everything is much easier.
"I didn't want to leave [Barcelona] for PSG and that was [an] overnight [decision]. I wanted to stay in Barcelona, but I had to get used to a different place, a different place from the one I had lived in terms of the city.
