Speaking at his unveiling at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, the Frenchman said he would be happy to take part in Los Blancos' pre-season trip to the United States if the club wanted him to.
It has since been reported by The Athletic that Mbappe will not be travelling with his new teammates, and will instead only begin training on 7 August.
This comes after France's deep run at the 2024 UEFA European Championship, where they were knocked out at the semi-final stage following a 2-1 defeat to Spain.
In America, Real will take on LALIGA rivals Barcelona, Italian giants AC Milan and the Premier League's Chelsea in friendly matches ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti and his staff are believed to have decided it is best for Mbappe to rest ahead of the coming season, after the Frenchman broke his nose in France's first game at EURO 2024.
