According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, the Red Devils have been in contact with Joshua Zirkzee's camp following his impressive season at Bologna.
The 23-year-old Dutch international is said to be among several options for United, although it is believed they are yet to speak to the Italian club over a potential move for the player.
Zirkzee's deal in Serie A reportedly includes a buyout clause of €40 million, with AC Milan another side believed to be monitoring the former Bayern Munich starlet's situation.
The forward was recently called up to join the Netherlands' 2024 UEFA European Championship squad following injuries to midfielders Frenkie de Jong and Teun Koopmeiners.
Zirkzee contributed to 19 goals in 37 matches this past campaign for Bologna as the club secured a place in next season's UEFA Champions League.
