Erik ten Hag, whose job in England began just seven months ago, claimed his first piece of silverware since arriving at the Red Devils after his side beat Newcastle United 2-0 following two first-half goals.
Casemiro was on target with his head in the 33rd minute, while Marcus Rashford's deflected strike made its way past the Magpies' goalkeeper six minutes later.
According to the Daily Mirror, United have earned just £100 000 (R2.2 million) for their efforts, while the losing team will be paid exactly half that amount.
However, the two clubs that took park in the final on Sunday evening will share the gate receipts, with 87 306 having attended the decider in London.
