Superstar Paul Pogba has spoken about being benched for Manchester United's 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Frenchman was not named in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's starting XI against the French giants, but did play an important role in his side's eventual victory.
Having come on in the second half, Pogba created the joint-most chances (three) in the match, including the one that set up Marcus Rashford's winner.
Speaking about being benched and his cameo, the 27-year-old revealed that the decision was a planned one.
"We knew what awaited us (in Paris)," Pogba told RMC Sport.
"All the players were ready for this match – the result came as it should have come. They had chances, we also had some and we materialised. The result is positive.
"It (his substitution against PSG) was prepared. We had prepared well for the match.
"We know that they are very strong offensively, and we had to block that. Afterwards, we started especially well, and we had chances. (We) managed to score."
Pogba has played just 287 minutes for United so far this season, scoring one goal and assisting one further strike.
