Manchester United have officially confirmed the sale of one of their senior players.
The Red Devils have announced that experienced defender Chris Smalling has left the club on a permanent deal for Roma.

Smalling, who has left for a reported fee of __, spent last season on loan at the Italian club, impressing in the 37 games he featured in for the Giallorossi.
Having joined United in 2010, the centre-back represented the Premier League club on 323 occasions before securing a permanent switch to Italy.
