The Red Devils have seemingly given up on signing Jadon Sancho in this window, with Borussia Dortmund said to be holding firm on their asking price.
In addition, talks over a potential move for Ousmane Dembele have reportedly hit a dead end, with the Blaugrana insisting on a permanent deal or an obligation to buy, while United only want him on loan.
As a consequence, the Manchester club has now reportedly shifted its focus to Ivory Coast starlet Amad Diallo.
The 18-year-old, who came through Atalanta's academy, was initially announced as a Parma signing earlier in this window.
However, that loan move fell through, and United will now sign him, even though he will only join in January.
— Manchester United (@ManUtd) October 5, 2020The player is said to be one of the brightest talents in Italy, with Atalanta captain Papu Gomez recently comparing him to Messi.
"He's a future star, trust me. During our trainings, he seems like Messi! You can't stop him," the 32-year-old said.
Diallo, though, can only join the Red Devils in January due to work permit issues.
