Manchester United star Scott McTominay has revealed what the mood was like in the dressing room following their annihilation against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The Red Devils took the lead against Jose Mourinho's men in the first minute after Anthony Martial earned a penalty that Bruno Fernandes converted.
However, that would be the only joyous moment for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his players as United's defensive line crumbled minutes later, and Martial was then sent off, with Spurs romping to a 6-1 victory – the Manchester club's worst home defeat since 2011.
Midfielder McTominay opened up regarding what the players felt in the dressing room after the game, vowing that "something will be done".
"Everybody in that dressing room, I can assure you, is very, very hurt and we know it's not about speaking to people and listening to what other people say. It's about focusing on ourselves.
"This football club is absolutely massive, and for us to play and perform like that is nowhere near good enough. Believe me, something will be done about that when we get back.
"That's the first time I've been on the end of a result like that and, believe me, inside, it's the worst feeling I've ever had."
United will have to wait until after the international break to respond, with their next game being away at Newcastle United on 17 October.
