Manchester United have reportedly hit another brick wall in the transfer window after seeing an approach for a Serie A star rejected.
The Daily Mirror has reported that the Red Devils made an approach to Fiorentina regarding Federico Chiesa, but their loan bid for the player was swiftly rejected.
The Premier League giants are understood to be looking at alternative options to Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, with the Bundesliga club standing firm with regard to their price tag for the forward.
There are only five more days left of the current transfer window, and United are still looking for options on the right wing, as well as in defence.
Chiesa, who netted 11 goals in 37 games for Fiorentina last season, was reportedly an option the Red Devils considered taking on loan, but the Italian side will seemingly only consider a permanent transfer.
Juventus are also said to be interested in the player, and are said to be set to offer £45 million (R958 million) for the 22-year-old winger.
As it stands, Ole Gunner Solskjaer's Red Devils are being linked with a number of attacking players, including FC Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele, although it remains to be seen whether or not they will be able to push through a major transfer deal ahead of deadline day on Monday, 5 October.
