With less than two weeks remaining of the window, the Red Devils are likely to be looking for a solution to Hannibal Mejbri's future at Carrington.
The 21-year-old has reportedly been made surplus to requirements at United after battling to establish himself as a key player for Erik ten Hag.
Hannibal, a Tunisia international, is now said to be of interest to EFL Championship outfit Burnley.
The Clarets are believed to be looking into a potential loan deal with a mandatory buy option, with discussions understood to already be underway with United and the player's camp.
This is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who says the terms of Burnley's offer "were not the ones expected" by last season's FA Cup winners.
Therefore, talks between Burnley and United appear to still be at a preliminary stage, and it remains unclear as to whether or not Mejbri would consider joining Scott Parker's team.
The Clarets were relegated from the Premier League last term, but currently find themselves top of the EFL Championship after scoring nine goals in their opening two matches.

South Africa international Foster was named in Parker's starting XI on both occasions and has so far registered one assist.
