A Manchester United star is reportedly willing to miss their FA Cup final against Manchester City so he can represent his native Argentina at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the Red Devils were reluctant to let young star Alejandro Garnacho represent his national team in this year's edition of the youth global showpiece.
In order to prepare for the tournament, the 18-year-old would miss United's remaining league fixtures as they look to secure UEFA Champions League football for next season and, perhaps more crucially, the FA Cup final, which is scheduled for 3 June.
As a result of Erik ten Hag's apprehension about releasing the Madrid native, Argentina U20 head coach Javier Mascherano reportedly flew to England to try to persuade the Red Devils boss to let the player join up the national team for the tournament.
According to Argentine outlet Doble Amarilla, Garnacho has also texted Ten Hag to say: "I need to write my own story with the Argentina shirt. I ask you to please let me go."
The former Atletico Madrid academy player is currently recovering from an ankle injury, and having broken into the United first team this season, Garnacho's performances have made him a favourite of the Dutch manager already.

The same report claims that Garnacho will make it known to Ten Hag once again, before United's crunch Premier League tie against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night, of his wish to travel to Argentina to help his nation capture their record seventh U20 World Cup title.
