The Red Devils are in the midst of a left-back injury crisis, with both their main players for the position, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, being long-term absentees due to injury, with their return dates yet to be established.
Consequently, the record Premier League champions are believed to be in the market for a top player for the role, and according to Sky Sports Germany, they are now interested in signing Alphonso Davies.
The Ghanaian-born defender's contract with Die Roten is scheduled to expire at the end of the season, and it is understood that no active negotiation is taking place between the German giants and the player as other elite European sides look to take advantage of the situation.
With Los Blancos having been linked with the Canada international last season, the same report claims that while the Red Devils are prepared to challenge the European and Spanish champions for his signature, they acknowledge that their chances of landing the pacey fullback are low.
Bayern are not to be forgotten too, as it is said that they are willing to return to the negotiating table should Davies decide he wants to prolong his stay at the Allianz Arena.

Los Merengues appear to currently be in the lead for Davies' signature as they seemingly want to reinforce both their fullback positions, with Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold also said to be of interest to the Spanish giants.
