Manchester United are reportedly planning to build a new stadium, one that would be the biggest football arena in England once complete.

According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils are waiting for approval to construct a brand-new home stadium that will be able to accommodate 100 000 fans.
This would-be arena would be the largest in England, surpassing Wembley Stadium.
On Christmas eve 2024, the record English champions announced that British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe had acquired a 25% stake in the club, and it is understood that he has set up a joint task force to assess the options to increase stadium capacity due to a growing demand of match-going supporters.

The same report claims that redevelopment of the existing 75 000-seater Old Trafford has been explored, but that would mean certain sections of the stadium would not be able to be used at certain times, which would consequently cause their matchday ticket revenue to drop.
Building a new stadium allows for the club to still maximise money made from ticket sales as their current arena would still be operational.
The only issue with building a new home ground from scratch is the money involved as it is believed that it would cost United £2 billion (R47 billion).

Should they get the green light to start construction, the Mancunians are expected to receive financial aid from the government, and it is said the new stadium could be completed by 2030.
