According to the Daily Mirror, it appears 18-year-old winger Alejandro Garnacho could be set to take the famous shirt number at Old Trafford.
The publication reports fans have not been able to purchase a new United shirt with the player's surname and his current No. 49 on the back, with every other combination of player and their number available.

However, it seems the change is still to be confirmed as there is still a gap between Lisandro Martinez's No. 6 and Bruno Fernandes' No. 8.
Garnacho has impressed since breaking into the club's senior set-up this past season, during which he contributed to 12 goals in all competitions.
The Argentina international himself has reportedly dropped several hints that he would like to wear the team's No. 7 shirt, "liking" a tweet recently that called for the move to be made.
