According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils could target Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise in the coming transfer window.
It is said a potential move for the 22-year-old, who was born in England but has represented France at youth level, was green-lit by United's board even before billionaire businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe purchased a stake in the club.
Romano says the new board, run by the INEOS chairman, has also internally approved a move for the talented wide player, who played a hand in an impressive 16 goals in league football this term.
Olise's season was disrupted by injury, but his contribution at the Eagles has seen a number of clubs express an interest in his signature ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Speaking to The United Stand, Romano added that Chelsea, whom his younger brother Richard Olise plays for, Newcastle United and Arsenal have also been monitoring his progress.
"Olise is one of the names on the list, for sure, but it's not advanced in terms of negotiations or contacts," he said.
"Also, there will be competition from many clubs, including Chelsea, who wanted to sign him one year ago. He's appreciated at Arsenal and Newcastle. It's not going to be easy [for United]."
