The struggling Premier League giants have secured the signatures of Donny van de Beek, Alex Telles, Edinson Cavani and Facundo Pellistri for the 2020/21 season, while they have also snapped up Amad Diallo, who will officially join United from Atalanta in January.
According to Transfermarkt, the Red Devils made only €15 million (R292 million) on player sales, with that being the fee Roma paid to sign defender Chris Smalling on a permanent transfer.
Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez left the club on a free transfer for Italian giants Inter Milan, where he spent last season on loan, while young Dutch winger Tahith Chong has signed for Werder Bremen on loan.
