Messi joined PSG from Barcelona on a free transfer in 2021 to help the club claim UEFA Champions League glory, but the have been knocked out in the round of 16 during the Argentine's two years with the club.
The report from the Mirror adds that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is not rushing to extend the Argentine's contract, as he aims to change the project by bringing in fewer big names and focusing on more young talents.
The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has been heavily linked with a return to the Camp Nou next season, although any move would hinge on Barcelona's financial situation.
Major League Soccer side Inter Miami have also expressed their desire to sign the Argentine superstar while Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal are also said to be keen.
Messi was recently asked about his future, but admitted he is not sure where he will end up.
"I don't know what my future holds," Messi said in an interview with Louis Vuitton, as per Marca.
"As I said at the beginning, it's hard for me to imagine, to think about things that could happen but I really don't know what my future will be and it will be whatever it has to be, whatever God wants it to be, will be."
