The Italian, who was again snubbed for Italy's national team squad, has scored six Ligue1 goals in six appearances this season, helping his side to sit in first place.
Julien Fornier, director of surprise Ligue1 leaders Nice, believes his club's approach of not giving Balotelli any special code of conduct is making the 26-year-old shine in France.
"All his former clubs have tried to give him rules, we don't," Fornier said, as quoted by Football Italia.
"We have our rules for the pitch and within the squad, but they're the same for everyone. He's a nice and easy to manage player, like his teammates.
"Nice is a family environment, but with rules that apply to everyone, without any special exceptions.
"We told him about our project, our club and our fans who are very warm and passionate. It's not by chance that our training sessions are open to the public."
