The former Liverpool striker has begun life at Nice in the best possible manner, helping his side to the top of the league table.
However, Salvatore Bocchetti, who now plays for Spartak Moscow and is a former Italy U21 teammate of the striker, has revealed another controversial story about the 26-year-old.
"One day, we were eating in the dining room with the rest of the squad," Bocchetti recalled on Russian television, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.
"Balotelli arrived and he just threw a plate of pasta into the face of Marco Motta!
"He's a good player but he's got no head! He's crazy! He's got no brain."
Bocchetti has since taken to social media to explain the last comment in his quotes, saying he was misinterpreted.
Balotelli joined Nice on a free transfer during the latest transfer window, and has now scored twice as many league goals as he did in the past two seasons for Liverpool and AC Milan combined.
