Angel Di Maria ended his goalscoring drought to help Paris Saint-Germain claim a 2-0 win over Nantes on Saturday evening.
PSG dominated possession in the early stages of the game with Nantes working hard to win the ball back and pressure the hosts.
In the 15th minute Angel Di Maria opened the scoring for PSG with a simple finish.
Had Di Maria not slotted the ball into the back of the net the referee would have awarded a penalty to PSG for a foul on Augustin which led to the ball falling into Di Maria's path in the middle of the box.
Di Maria was in the right place at the right time to slot home the opening goal.
In the 43rd minute Nantes almost found the equaliser as Thiago Silva almost scored an own goal from a corner. His header forced Trapp into making a brilliant save to deny his captain from scoring an own goal.
The game went into the interval with PSG having the one goal lead over Nantes and enjoying more of possession and dominating, in a half where they could have scored more than one goal.
Nantes created several chances but not clear cut chances as they grew more into the game towards the end of the half.
On the hour-mark Matuidi's lob was cleared off the line by Djidji as the ball was goal-bound.
It was good play by Augustin who beat the keeper but the angle was too narrow to shoot at goal so he laid it back to Matuidi who had the attempt at goal but Djidji was on the line to clear.
Nantes were getting opportunities but they rushed their chances in the last third. They seemed not to be getting the final pass right in the last third.
Pastore was brought down inside the penalty area in the 89th minute and the referee awarded a penalty. Jese converted from 12-yards calmly slotting the ball into the bottom left-hand corner, 2-0.
