Result: Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 Bordeaux
Date: 01 October 2016
Venue: Parc de Princes
Edinson Cavani's fine form continued as he netted a brace to help Paris Saint-Germain claim a 2-0 win over Bordeaux.
PSG were off to a flyer as they opened the scoring in the third minute.
Cavani gave the home side the lead with a glancing header in at the far post following clever moves by Angel Di Maria who was afforded space to pick out the Uruguayan from the left-flank.
Cavani was on hand again to extend the lead to 2-0 in the 30th minute.
Lucas played a no-look pass through to Karzana who rolled the ball into the centre for Cavani.
The striker finished the move brilliantly with a delicate back-heel, slotting in at the far post.
The first-half ended with PSG leading 2-0 and far a dominant side over Bordeaux.
The Bordeaux team looked dejected and PSG continued to dominate in the second-half.
In the 72nd minute Di Maria got the ball in the back of the net but it was ruled out for off-side.
It was done and dusted as Bordeaux were completely out-played. They rarely did anything threatening, only after a few substitutions did they spark something but were altogether well beaten in the end.
