Paris Saint-Germain and Ivory Coast right back Serge Aurier was sentenced to a fine of €2 100 (R32 341) and two months in prison by a French court on Monday.
According French publication The Local, Aurier was alleged to have "insulted and hit a police officer" when leaving a night club in May.

His case was presented in court and the 23-year-old has been found guilty of the charges.
Aurier, though, is unlikely to serve any time behind bars as it is a suspended sentence, and could be available for his club's UEFA Champions League match on Wednesday night.
