African Player of the Year Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who spent four years on loan with French clubs during his time at AC Milan, has backed Balotelli to net 20 goals this season.
"Can Balotelli score 20 goals this season? Yes, I think he can do it," Aubameyang told Onze Mondial.
"But it all depends on himself. If he remains focused on his game all season, I am sure he can reach that figure."
Meanwhile, Balotelli, who has begun life at OGC Nice with six goals in five games, once again sent a slight jibe towards his former club Liverpool, omitting them from the teams where he "felt good".
"The city where I am now is beautiful," he told Sky Italia.
"The environmental aspect played a role in my decision, having recently lived in Liverpool and Milan.
"The team, however, are very young. We're almost all the same age, this is the football that I like.
"I have no more dreams in football, only targets. The ranking of the teams where I have felt good? Nice, Manchester City and… that's it."
