Real Madrid star Toni Kroos is convinced Sergio Ramos will return to the LaLiga giants one day.
Ramos will officially part ways with the Spanish outfit when his contract expires at the end of this month, ending a 16-year spell in Madrid.
Kroos has now admitted he cannot imagine the defender not retiring as a Real player, but is convinced he will he make the right decision with his next choice of club.
"I don't know Real Madrid without Sergio Ramos. You can't imagine this player not finishing his career at Real Madrid. I had hoped he would stay," Kroos said on the Einfach mal Luppen podcast.
"I don't know where he will go, but I'm sure he will make a good decision.
"The seven years I was able to be with him as a player and as a person were incredible. Ramos was not only a top player but also the best captain I have ever seen, because he always fought for the team on the pitch and off it."
The German midfielder is also convinced Ramos will return to Los Blancos in some capacity one day.
"I am sure we will see him at Real Madrid again, whatever his role," Kroos added.
"It would also be negligent not to have someone like that at the club and keep him. He can still contribute a lot in the future."
