It has been claimed that Real Madrid have entered into talks with the man who could potentially replace Zinedine Zidane at Los Blancos.
Zidane Reveals Why He Left Real Madrid
Antonio Conte, Mauricio Pochettino and Raul Gonzalez have been tipped as potential successors to Zidane, who revealed in a recent interview that he stepped down from his role after what he perceived to be a lack of faith in him from the club.
The Spanish giants will want to fill the vacant managerial position sooner rather than later, particularly with pre-season ahead of the 2021/22 campaign set to be shorter than usual due to the upcoming UEFA European Championship and Copa America tournaments.
While replacing Zidane, who claimed 11 trophies in two spells with Los Blancos, will be no easy feat, Cadena SER has now reported that Carlo Ancelotti could be set for a return to the Santiago Bernabeu.
It is claimed the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners have approached the Everton manager to discuss whether or not he would be interested in the job, with the Toffees said to already be looking for possible replacements should the 61-year-old accept an offer from Real.
Ancelotti won four trophies with the LaLiga juggernauts between 2013 and 2015, including the Champions League title in the 2013/14 campaign.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Everton and Real have been in contact to discuss matters, with the Italian likely to be confirmed as the LaLiga side's new boss this week.
