Official: Players Return To Real Madrid and Barcelona

With July having arrived, here are 10 players who have officially returned to Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona this week ahead of the 2021/22 season, including Gareth Bale to the former.

Click through the gallery above to see some players who have returned to the two biggest clubs in Spain, according to Transfermarkt.

Several stars will be heading back to Los Blancos and the Blaugrana for pre-season ahead of next season, although some of them could end up leaving the clubs again, either on loan or permanently.

According to Transfermarkt, Bale is back on Real's roster after a season-long loan deal at Tottenham Hotspur in which he contributed to an impressive 19 goals in 34 games across all competitions.

It remains unclear as to whether or not the 31-year-old Wales international will be used by Carlo Ancelotti, though the Italian manager has stated that the winger will be given the chance to show what he is made of before the campaign gets underway.

Midfielders Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard have also returned to the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners after loan spells at Arsenal in the Premier League. While it seems Odegaard will be in Ancelotti's plans, Ceballos' future at the club appears uncertain.

While his loan spell at AC Milan is technically finished, Brahim Diaz is expected to play for the Italian giants again in the coming campaign, but, for now, he is back at Real.

Mbappe Griezmann Fall Out?

Meanwhile, at Barcelona, midfielder Carles Alena is back at his boyhood club after a temporary spell at Getafe, with reports across Spain suggesting that the 23-year-old has no future under Dutch manager Ronald Koeman.
