Atletico Madrid and Uruguay star Luis Suarez has responded to speculation linking him with a possible return to the Premier League.
Suarez established himself as one of Europe's best attackers during a three-year spell with Liverpool, registering 82 goals in 133 appearances for the Reds.
The Uruguayan, now with Atletico Madrid after a successful stint at Barcelona, has been linked with a return to England in the past few months, but he has now admitted it would be weird to represent any EPL team other than the Reds.
"Playing for any team other than Liverpool in England would be hard," he told World Soccer magazine.
"I had, and hope I still do have, such a good relationship with Liverpool fans that it would be strange for me to play for somebody else.
"It would have been special to win the league with Liverpool, but I am glad that their wait is now over.
"They look like a team that will compete for many seasons to come even if this one has not been the best for them. They are back where they belong."
Suarez's 21 goals in 32 LaLiga appearances last season helped guide Los Rojiblancos to their first league title since the 2013/14 campaign.
