Mason Greenwood began Getafe's latest game on the bench amid a difficult start to life in Spain following his loan departure from Manchester United – here is the reported reason why.

The 22-year-old has appeared four times for the Spanish minnows since his arrival, but is yet to score his first goal for the club.
Greenwood played 90 minutes in a 2-2 draw with Athletic Bilbao in LALIGA last week Wednesday, although it appears his assist in that game was not enough for him retain his place in the starting XI on the weekend.
The one-time England international was left on the bench for the first half of Getafe's 0-0 stalemate with Villarreal, seemingly due to a system change, but was introduced immediately after the break.
Against Bilbao, Greenwood was picked at left wing in a 5-4-1 formation, and manager Jose Bordalas overlooked the striker for the 4-4-2 he used this past Saturday.
Getafe are currently 13th on the table after eight matches, having won just two games since the 2023/24 campaign got underway.
Greenwood is expected to remain at the club on loan until the end of the season following his arrival from the Red Devils, who are said to have no plan to use him again in England.

The wait for his first goal continues, with the last time he found the net being in January 2022, the same month he was arrested by authorities on suspicion of attempted rape, assault, and coercive and controlling behaviour.
