Los Blancos remain keen on De Gea's signature, but United have made it clear they will not lower their demands of €40 million. Either that or "Sergio Ramos and Keylor Navas", according to recent reports.
However, Real find both demands exorbitant and are not prepared to accept any of the two deals.
De Gea has missed the club's first two pre-season games due to injury, but is likely to return against FC Barcelona on Saturday.
The player himself remains silent over his future as it seems he will sit out his contract at Old Trafford and only join Bernabeu when his contract expires next season.
Ramos, meanwhile, is reportedly keen to join the Red Devils, but Real are not prepared to let their new club captain leave.
United have allegedly bid €60 million for the 29-year-old but seem to find deaf ears as Real boss, Florentino Perez is ready to have crunch talks with the Spaniard.
Perez reportedly wants to clear Ramos' situation as soon as possible and will fly to China to sit down with the player, whom he labeled "unsellable".
