Former Manchester United striker, Robin van Persie, has revealed who helped convince him to make his move to Fenerbahce.

The forward spoke about his excitement at playing for his new club, saying that Dirk Kuyt only had good things to say about Fenerbahce.
"We played with the national team for 10 years," he told The Independent.
"We have a long friendship. I found the time to speak to Kuyt before I came here.
"Because of our friendship in the national team I asked his ideas. He gave me very positive opinions about Fenerbahce.
"Kuyt said that this place is a big club and talked about the fans here. I cannot wait to meet the fans as well."
Van Persie's move to the club was confirmed on Tuesday, for a fee around £4.7 million.

The 31-year-old scored 58 goals for the Red Devils, while he assisted a further 22 times in 105 games.
