Manchester United are reportedly very close to signing FC Barcelona's Pedro Rodriguez for a fee of €24 million, according to Spanish media.
AS are reporting that the Red Devils could soon complete a deal with the Catalan club, which will cost them €24 million plus a further €6 million in add-ons.
It's believed that the deal could be announced as early as this week and it will see the Spaniard link up with fellow his national teammates Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and David de Gea.
Pedro took part in Barcelona's friendly against the LA Galaxy on Tuesday, but it is believed that it was his last appearance in a Barcelona jersey.
Luis Enrique admitted before the pre-season started, that he understands Pedro's frustration at his lack of playing time, but insisted that he did not want the player to leave the club.
Pedro's teammate Sergio Busquets came out in the media yesterday saying that the Spainiard has spoken to him, but wouldn't reveal what he has said.
"Yes, I have spoken to him but I won't tell you what he said. It was a private conversation," he told the Guardian.
"I would want him to stay, I would love him to stay. He is a friend of mine and it will be his final decision. He wants to play more and get more minutes. That's what he wants.
"But we are in a team of great players and it's hard for him. Finally it will be his decision but I hope he stays."
