Liverpool have announced the signing of Christian Benteke from Aston Villa for a fee of £32.5 million on a four year deal.
The Belgium international's move was held up a little, as Liverpool had to fly down their club doctor from their Australia/Far East tour.
Benteke's arrival is the clubs seventh signing of the season and I takes Liverpool's spending spree to more than £75 million.'
"I'm very happy to be here and I would like to thank the owners, Ian [Ayre] and of course the manager for their massive effort to bring me here," Benteke told the club's official website.
The 24-year-old made 35 appearances for Aston Villa last season and managed to score 16 goals, while assisting in three more.
