After Liverpool claimed their first-ever FIFA Club World Cup title, the player of the tournament has since been announced, while an African star scooped to the Golden Boot award.

The Reds capped off a memorable year by clinching their first-ever Club World Cup title after beating Flamengo in the final on Saturday evening.
Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah who starred in both games was awarded the Golden Ball for Player of the Tournament.
Salah is only the second African player to win the award after Samuel Eto'o claimed the Golden Ball back in 2010.
Flamengo's Bruno Henrique came in second to claim the Silver Ball, while Al Hilal's Carlos Eduardo was awarded the Bronze Ball.
CAF Champions League holders Esperance, who finished fifth, walked away with the FIFA Fair Play Award.

The Golden Boot award was shared in this year's tournament, with Esperance's Hamdou Elhouni and Al Sadd's Baghdad Bounedjah both netting three goals.
