The 2019 FIFA Club World Cup kicked off in Qatar on Wednesday night, where prolific Algerian goalscorer Baghdad Bounedjah helped guide Al-Sadd to victory over Hienghene Sport.
The 28-year-old spoke to FIFA.com after the match, and while he was pleased with his and his side's performance, he also stressed that they could have scored more on the night if they had shown more composure in front of goal.
"I won the Africa Cup of Nations," he added.
"I reached the AFC Champions League's semi-final too, but we couldn't make it to the final, (and) I am now taking part in the FIFA Club World Cup so I can say that 2019 has been an exceptional year for me.
"We will do all we can to win the title, and if we do, that will be great. If not, we know that's football."
