According to Diario AS, the Catalan giants have reached an agreement in principle with Hansi Flick for him to become their new lead tactician come the start of the 2024/25 campaign.
Club sporting director Deco and sports commission member Bojan Krkic are believed to have travelled to London on Wednesday in order to finalise terms with the German tactician and his agent.
It is believed a two-year contract was agreed upon, with the 59-year-old set to return to club football management for the first time since leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
It is claimed that while this has not yet officially been communicated to Xavi Hernandez, the Blaugrana chiefs are expected to meet with the 44-year-old early next week in order to finalise the termination of his contract with the club as well as his compensation package.
The same report states that Barca president Joan Laporta is a massive admirer of German tacticians currently in football management.
He has a deep appreciation for the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel, but is unable to recruit either, and with his good relationship with Flick's agent Pini Zahavi, Laporta has seemingly decided that the former German national team boss will be the next manager of the five-time European champions.

Flick is coincidentally also the manager who has inflicted Barcelona with their heaviest-ever defeat in the UEFA Champions League, when his Bayern side dismantled the Spaniards 8-2 in the 2019/20 campaign.
The Heidelberg native is also said to have rejected advances from Chelsea in order to secure his role on the Camp Nou bench.
