The public revolt against management at FC Barcelona, which previously saw Lionel Messi exchange words with sporting director Eric Abidal, gained a new voice this week after another senior player slammed the club's bosses.
The current crisis at Barca first arose when Messi called out Abidal for comments he made earlier in the month, before shocking reports emerged claiming that president Josep Maria Bartomeu was running a smear campaign against a number of the club's popular figures.
Veteran midfielder Sergio Busquets has now added his name to the growing list of disgruntled players, which includes star full-back Jordi Alba, and criticised the club's lack of long-term squad planning following Barca's 1-1 UEFA Champions League draw against Napoli on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old shared his concern that the squad was too thin, despite completing an emergency signing last week, and that their UCL prospects could be damaged by the increasing threat of an injury and suspension crisis.
"(Nelson) Semedo and I were one booking away from a ban so we were always running that risk (of suspension)," Busquets said, as reported by the Daily Star.
"We hope (Gerard) Pique's injury is nothing serious but we will take on the second leg with what we have. We don't have a deep squad because, unfortunately, that's how it was planned."
Barca are currently in the process of rebuilding after Ernesto Valverde was sacked last month and replaced by former Real Betis boss Quique Setien.
