The Blaugrana seem to still be navigating their way out of their precarious financial position, and it is believed that the LALIGA champions are still looking at the free agent market as a potential source of gems for them in the coming transfer windows.
There are many quality players who are poised to be out of contract come the next off-season, but one who reportedly stands out for Barca is Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.
The 26-year-old is currently playing for Leicester City, and following the Foxes relegation from the Premier League, the Lagos native was the subject of much interest from many of European football's giants this past off-season.
However, according to Sport, the sentiment among the likes of Bayern Munich and Juventus was that the English side quoted a figure that was too high for a player who had 12 months remaining on his contract.
The same report claims that the Spanish giants have been long-time admirers of the 53-cap Nigeria international, and tried to sign him a couple of seasons ago too.

Barca are also said to be aware that they will not be the only club interested in signing Ndidi, but have identified the west African as a prime target ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
