The Catalan giants are said to be close to getting approval from LALIGA to implement the 1:1 rule. This essentially means that they will be able to sign players without restrictions, something they believe will be important in new coach Hansi Flick's first transfer window as Barca head coach.
In their transfer plans, the Spanish juggernauts have seemingly categorised the purchasing of a left winger as an imperative. The club is believed to have identified RB Leipizig's Dani Olmo, Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams and Liverpool's Luis Diaz as their three main targets for that position.

In the case of Williams, his acquisition seems the least viable as the Basque club do not seem to be compromising in their €60 million (R1.1 million) release clause, which they are said to want in full up front.
Leipzig are said to be more lenient regarding the payment of Olmo's release clause, which is also said to be set at €60 million, with the Bundesliga outfit believed to be willing to accept the compensation in instalments.
However, this clause will only be viable until mid-July.

Both are expensive purchases regardless, making Diaz the most sensible transfer, economically speaking.
According to Mundo Deportivo's Xavier Bosch, the Colombian could be available for just €50 million (R970 million), and given that Barca sporting director Deco is also a fan of the winger, it seems they may lean more towards signing him than the aforementioned Spanish duo.
