Date: 06 January 2017
Venue: Olympic Stadium
Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero were among the goals as Manchester City thumped West Ham United 5-0 to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The game got off to a lively start, but clear-cut chances were hard to come by for both sides in the opening 20 minutes.
City nearly broke the deadlock in the 27th minute, but Adrian produced a fine finger-tip save to keep out Aguero's volley.
The visitors were awarded a penalty moments later when Pablo Zabaleta was brought down in the box. Toure stepped up and converted the spot-kick, 1-0.
City doubled their lead in the 40th minute when Havard Nordtveit deflected Bacary Sagna's inviting cross into his own net from six-yards out, 2-0.
There was enough time for City to grab a third goal before the break, as Sterling turned provider to play in David Silva, who calmly slotted past Adrian.
It was 4-0 shortly after the break when Aguero registered his name on the score-sheet by turning home Toure's scuffed effort in the 50th minute.
West Ham responded with a double change on the hour mark Dimitri Payer and Mark Noble replaced Andy Carroll and Manuel Lanzini.
The home side enjoyed more of the possession as the second half went on, but they struggled to carve out any chances.
However, City bagged a fifth goal in the 84th minute as John Stones beat his marker to head home an in-swinging corner, 5-0.
