UEFA Europa League Report: Sion 0-0 Liverpool 10 December 2015

UEFA Europa League Result: Sion 0-0 Liverpool Date: 10 December 2015 Venue: Stade de Tourbillon Liverpool maintained their place at the top of Group B in the UEFA Europa League with a goalless draw against Sion on Thursday night. The visitors started brightly and came close to opening the scoring only five minutes into the clash. Brad Smith made a wonderful run before crossing for Divock Origi at the far post. However, the striker opted to stick out a leg instead of going for a header and saw the ball roll away from the open goal. Adam Lallana created another chance for Liverpool in the 19th minute when his run set up Origi, who tried his luck from long range, forcing a diving save from the Sion goalkeeper. The hosts threatened in the 21st minute as Edmilson Fernandes beat Kolo Toure too easily to make room for himself. He had options to pass on either side of him, but wanted to go for goal, dragging his shot well wide. Just after the break Jurgen Klopp's charges were on the attack again as Origi made his way to the byline where he tried to cross to Firmino, but James Milner got in the way and saw his touch send the ball into the goalkeeper's gloves. Emre Can instigated an attack for the travelers in the 71st minute when he sent a sublime pass through the middle of the Sion defence. Coutinho flicked it on for Origi who tried to round the 'keeper, but Vanins kept his composure and dispossessed the forward.
