Europa League Result: Shakhtar Donestk 2-2 Sevilla Date: 28 April 2016 Venue: L'viv Arena Sevilla scored a late equaliser at Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday to draw 2-2 in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final. The defending champions made the ideal start to the clash as they opened the scoring in only the sixth minute. Vitolo burst into the box before cutting inside Rakitskiy and coolly slotting past Pyatov. However, the celebrations didn't last too long as the hosts levelled matters in the 23rd minute. Rakitskiy was allowed time on the ball, which he used to pick out Marlos in the area. He in turn beat Escudero before firing into the bottom corner. Sevilla came close a few minutes later when a poor clearance from Rami struck Vitolo. Taison brought the ball under control and shot from 25 yards but it went just wide. The hosts completed their comeback in the 35th minute as they took the lead for the first time. Marlos created the chance as he beat Banega and sent a cross to the near post where Taras Stepanenko headed home. Konoplyanka and Banega combined for Sevilla around the hour mark before sending the ball off to Carrico who unleashed a shot. The goalkeeper spilled it but it went wide of the post. Sevilla were unlucky not to level matters in the 76th minute when Gameiro turned the ball home from Escudero's cross, as he was flagged for a harsh offside. The equaliser finally arrived for the Spanish side in the 82nd minute via the penalty spot. Vitolo lured Ferreyra into making a rash tackle in the box, winning a penalty that Gameiro slotted for the 2-2 result.
