With his deal in England set to expire in 2025, there appears to be uncertainty over the 31-year-old's long-term continuation at the Reds.
Reports in recent months have linked Salah with a big-money Saudi Pro League switch amid admiration from clubs such as Al Hilal and Al Ittihad.
It was the former who reportedly put record-breaking offers on the table for the player last year, but Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp insisted he stayed put.
Saudi league executive director of operations Carlo Nohra has now discussed these links, admitting landing players "such as Salah" is important for their plans.
"The plan to attract players of this level, such as Mohamed Salah, is an essential part of the business strategy," he said, according to Kooora.
"The issue of contracting with big players was not very much under control, but any available player will be negotiated by our work team, and this is part of our goals."
Talking more about the SPL's game-changing ambitions, Nohra stressed their aim is not to replicate football in Europe, but better it.
"We are learning from Europe because of the development of football, and we do not want to just imitate them and become another Europe," he added.
"What we want is to provide a better and stable product in football."
