Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has responded to Rodri's threat about players going on strike due to the fixture schedule.
Rodri has become the latest player to speak about the fixture list for both club and country over the last two years.
There is a new UEFA Champions League format this season that sees teams player more match in the first phase, while there is also the revamped FIFA Club World Cup at the end of the season.
Rodri stated earlier this week would be open to taking action and refusing to play if the situation has not changed.
Guardiola claims the player should have the power to make change as they are main aspect of the sport.
"If something is going to change, always (it) must come from the players," the City manager said, as per AP news.
"That business (soccer) can be without managers, can be without sporting directors, can be without media, can be without owners, but without the players (it) cannot be played.
"So the only (ones) that have the power to do it is them.
"He needs luck because he is very young.
"I hope he doesn't have any problems [injuries]. He is in a context that helps him a lot. Spain's national team is really good."
