Liverpool's rumoured successor to Jurgen Klopp has made a bold admission about the possibility of him becoming the next Reds manager.

The rumour mill has been in overdrive ever since Klopp announced in January that he will be leaving Anfield at the end of the season.
Names such as Xabi Alonso, Ruben Amorim and Roberto De Zerbi have all been thrown around in the aftermath of the German's declaration, but there is now a new frontrunner to lead the Merseysiders, with Feyenoord's Arne Slot having emerged as Liverpool's new top candidate for the role.
The 45-year-old Dutchman has been highly touted by a number of English outfits in light of his 2022/23 title-winning efforts in the Eredivisie, having reportedly attracted the interest of the likes of Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur before the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign.

He is understood to have rejected those offers to stay in Rotterdam, inking an extension at the beginning of this season.
However, it seems the lure of coaching the 19-time English champions has proved too enticing to pass up, and he revealed on Thursday that he wants to become the next Reds boss.
"The only thing I can say about it is that the clubs are in negotiations," Slot told ESPN Netherlands.
"And then you sit in the waiting room and wait for what will come out. It seems clear to me that I would like to go to Liverpool. Now I'm waiting to see whether the clubs reach an agreement. I'm very confident in that.

"The clubs have to do their job. And then I'm waiting and as the 'main character'. I have to respect that. It will undoubtedly become clear in the coming days."
