Chelsea's owners have reportedly called a crisis meeting amid calls for head coach Graham Potter to be fired.
'Changes' Ronaldo Has Enforced At New Club
Having won just two matches in their past 14 games, the pressure continues to mount on the English tactician in west London. It is this form that has reportedly caused the club owners to convene with Potter for an emergency meeting.
According to the Evening Standard, after Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to bottom-of-the-table Southampton last weekend, co-owners of the club Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali called for a meeting with Potter and his backroom staff to be debriefed on the loss as well as strategise on how to get themselves to a better place.
There are calls for the former Swansea boss to be fired as a consequence of Chelsea's poor form, which sees them languishing in 10th position on the Premier League table, but it is claimed that Boehly and Eghbali will not fire him before their London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
The pair have backed their manager as they see him as a central figure to their long-term aspirations, but are said to acknowledge there is also an expectancy of better football.
The same report suggests that Potter held a no-holds-barred meeting with some of the team's senior players last month, and club executives are now expecting a turnaround in form in their next three matches.
It is understood that the American owners will also be in attendance for their next encounters against Spurs, Leeds United and Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League.

Having been eliminated in the third round of both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, the Champions League represents Chelsea's most realistic chance of winning silverware this season.
Potter and his staff are determined to turn things around, but might have to do so quickly, with reports recently suggesting that the club is meeting with possible successors for the Stamford Bridge dugout.
