The Brazilian was asked his opinion on the match, and after jokingly suggesting that Real did not feature in El Clasico at all, he recalled a time when he, too, was on the end of a Barca drubbing, just as Rafael Benitez's men were on Saturday.
"Did Real Madrid play?" He joked at a press conference.
"I was in the same position once, we lost 3-0 at the Bernabeu and we didn't get near the goal.
"The problem for me is I made a bet with some of my players, so now I have to pay them!"
Carlos played against the Catalans 24 times in his career, winning seven of those matches, drawing another seven and losing on 10 occasions.
