According to Radio Marca, a few Los Blancos players want to meet with their Spanish boss as they feel a defensive strategy against the Blaugrana on Saturday won't win them the match. The stars reportedly want to take the game to the Catalan club, and not sit back for 90 minutes and hope for a breakaway goal.
The report claims that the players don't want to attack Benitez' tactics, but rather recommend a different playing style, believing they know exactly what to expect from their arch-rivals.
Real will go into El Clasico off the back of a 3-2 defeat against Sevilla, a game the players reportedly felt their boss was too cautious in.
Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo apparently vented his frustrations to club president Florentino Perez before their last La Liga match, telling him the team wouldn't win anything with Benitez in charge.
Sergio Ramos is another player who has already clashed with the manager, as well as Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez.
